Description:
The Awakened Leader leads the reader into the world of leadership as it is worked 2500 years ago, as it currently works, and as it will work 2500 years from now. There are many theories of leadership in existence, most of which pertain to specific circumstances and specific followers. This book introduces an age-old form of leadership, practiced more than 2500 years ago by great individuals like Buddha and Christ. This leadership style, which is an all-encompassing style of leading, has not been introduced as such before. Awakened leadership triggers the fascination of corporate, govern-mental, political, non-profit, entrepreneurial, religious, family, personal, and all other types of leaders in the most profound way. Reviewing leadership from an inside out and macro-to-micro approach, awakened leadership provides you with all of the tools you need to achieve your dreams in an ever-changing world.

Author Biography:
Dr. Joan Marques is a facilitator of business and management topics in higher education. At the same time, she holds the advantage of a rich experience in business execution: She co-founded and co-managed three business organizations and a non-profit foundation in Suriname, South America, and has thus far co-founded two non-profit organizations in the U.S. Her studies of organizational leadership, first in the Pepperdine doctoral program, and later during independent researching and teaching projects, have confronted her with the need for more coherence in the practice of leadership.

“I really encourage you to deeply pause as you read this book. Quickly reading this book and depositing lots of ideas into your head will give you some awakening with a small "a." However, taking your time, deeply pausing and reflecting as things come up can potentially elicit some authentic awakening with a capital "A."  This book can be a transformational awakening - it is up to you.”
