Description:
Spirituality in the Workplace focuses on the most important matters of working in today ís continuously interdependent world. It reviews the prerequisites for enhancing the quality of life in the workplace; while it explains how this approach leads to a more effective and efficient way of getting the job done with an immediate positive impact on the bottom line. This book does away with the erroneous mindset that spiritual workplaces are religious ones. It is based on experiences that are gathered from a wide range of business leaders in various settings, who all provided their scope on workplace fulfillment for all stakeholders. The most important take-away from this book may be that it provides every reader with a new perspective on work, how it can be rewarding, regardless of your position, qualities, background, or education.

This brief work is the brainchild of three minds and at least as many continents: its authors were educated in or work in South America, India, and the United States. It promotes the idea that a humane, ethical work environment under honest and committed leadership contributes to rather than distracts from profit and the pursuit of the bottom line. The authors are careful to distinguish between the spiritual and the religious workplace, and while some of their suggestions may seem banal (e.g. your children’s pictures, plants), their work as a whole at least recognizes how much time the modern worker spends in the office and that the happy employee is more effective. A workshop between covers, directed to the supervisor as well as the cube prisoner, this accessible work should find a wide audience, especially among business readers. —Library Journal (March 1, 2007) “Walk into almost any corporation these days and you will find an organization full of fear, anger, resistance to change, and employees who are there just for the paycheck. The best employees are usually looking to go elsewhere, and the employees who are not so marketable are trying to stay under the radar and just hang for dear life. Is this a formula for high productivity and high performance? Is this the way to create a sustainable organization? I think not. This book offers another way, the way of spirituality in the workplace. This new paradigm is a natural evolution of earlier management theories and approaches, and Joan Marques, Satinder Dhiman, and Richard King are pioneers in this evolution.” "This is a very important book that ought to be read by every student and practitioner of management.” "With the rapidly increasing trend toward globalization - understanding, meaning, and fulfillment as tools toward enhanced satisfaction, but also toward improved organizational performance, have become†more important issues than ever. Whether you work in a business or non-profit environment, locally or globally, Spirituality in the Workplace is a book you need to read in order to keep you focused in today's and tomorrow's world.”
